Are you thinking of giving money to a cause for the "victims" of Hurricane Katrina? I wouldn't. You ask why? All you have to do is to look at the story of the Thompson family.
A church wanted to do something special for the Thompson family who were displaced victims of Hurricane Katrina. So the church gave the victims a $75,000 house, free and clear. The couple who claimed to be left homeless flipped the home for $88,000 and never moved into it.
When a TV reporter asked Joshua Thompson about it, Thompson told him to "Take it up with God."
So when charities beg for these Katrina folks, that will be my response. "Take it up with God." because I'm not giving to you guys.
